DJ SANJAY – MUNICH MASALA

Munich Masala was founded in 1999 and is an initiative that promotes various cultural activities of the South-Asian origin in Germany. Its purpose is to bring people with different backgrounds together and help them integrate themselves in Germany.

DJ SanJay has been collaborating with the Prague Indian Film Festival for many years.

Sangita Shresthova / Bollynatyam

Sangita is a Czech/Nepalese dancer who studied Bharata Natyam, Charya Nritya (Nepalese Dance), Bollywood Dance,
Kalaripayat and contemporary dance techniques. She her dance and choreography has been featured in many locations including the Other Festival (India), Jacob’s Pillow (USA), Semaine Indienne (Belgium) Schaubuehne (Germany), and Divadlo ABC (Czech Republic). Sangita continues to explore and present the possibilities of Indian dance, film and new media through collaborative projects through Bollynatyam, the company she founded in 2004. Her Ph.D. on Bollywood Dance around the World (UCLA) will soon be published as a book.

TA-NATYAM

The troupe’s style is based on the classic South-Indian dance Bharat Natyam, with added modern arrangements.

The dancers also perform Bollywood dances, which enable to combine classic Indian dance elements, India’s martial arts kalarippayattu, folk dance and modern dance elements and it can even take its inspiration from other ethnic groups.

HELENA VALTOVÁ

- is an instructor at Centrum tance, she leads dance classes in Jablonec nad Nisou and in Prague, teaching various styles such as Bollywood, Oriental dances and Zumba. She also founded the Bollywood dance troupe Aaja Nachle.

Om

Óm is an Indian dancer, dance instructor and choreographer from Kerala (a State in South India), who now lives in Prague. Óm will perform together with his Bollywood dance students.
